New appointments at Morningstar Investment Management

Wednesday 3rd September 2014

Morningstar Investment Management Group has announced the appointment of Diane Earnshaw as Head of UK Consulting and Edward Fane as Senior Investment Consultant and Portfolio Manager.

Earnshaw has more than 18 years of experience in manager appraisal and selection, and joined Morningstar in 2010 with the company’s acquisition of Old Broad Street Research (OBSR).

Since then, she has led the company’s UK coverage of multi-asset funds, which incorporates the entire spectrum of asset classes available to UK investors, as well as managing some key consultancy relationships.

Fane joins Morningstar after nine years at Thesis Asset Management, a private client discretionary asset management firm, where he co-managed the company’s Optima fund-of-funds range and developed and ran its model portfolio service.

In his new role, Fane will provide best practice investment consulting and portfolio management services to advisers and institutional investors, including, wealth managers, foundations, and insurance companies.

“These appointments reflect our commitment to delivering market-leading investment solutions for our consulting clients,” Robin Johnson, co-head of investment consulting and portfolio management, EMEA, for the Morningstar Investment Management group, said. “Diane has broad experience working within the UK fund industry, and her appointment will further support our provision of the highest level of investment advice and service to all our UK clients to improve investor outcomes.”

Johnson added, “Edward brings significant investment management experience to our team, adding a further level of expert insight and support for our clients. We are pleased to welcome him on board, as we continue to build on our consulting and portfolio management business, including our discretionary funds management offering for UK advisers.”
