US government sells USD 16bn of 30-year bonds

The US government sold $16 billion of 30-year bonds at a yield of 4.720% last week.
This was the highest since August 2007 and was above expectations.
Earlier US 10-year Treasury notes yielded 3.72%, up from a high yield of 3.69 in an auction of US $25billion of 10-year notes.
