Swiss Franc Forex swaps to be stopped by ECB
Tuesday 19th January 2010
By Mike Jones
The European Central Bank is to stop conducting one-week Swiss franc liquidity-providing swap operations after January 31, 2010.
"This decision was made against the background of declining demand and improved conditions in the funding markets," the ECB said in a statement.
The Swiss National Bank, Magyar Nemzeti Bank and the National Bank of Poland will also end euro-Swiss franc swaps.
