Oil rises above USD 80 a barrel

Oil prices rose to US $80 dollars a barrel in New York yesterday.

Supply worries triggered the rise - with striking French oil workers and tensions over Iran's nuclear programme the two key issues.
It was the fifth consecutive session of gains for oil prices which have rallied on growing signs of global economic recovery.
