Cambridge-based software company Autonomy is to issue a £500million convertible bond.
The firm plans to use the money to "enhance Autonomy's ability to engage with potential acquisition targets".
The bonds announcement came after Autonomy revealed it was buying MicroLink, a US-based software vendor that resells Autonomy's own products, for £35.2million.
