Is Brown right man to lead Britain out of recession?

Thursday 11th March 2010

By Mike Jones

There's no date yet confirmed for the forthcoming General Election - but the way all the party leaders are vying for attention currently shows that the starting gun might as well have been fired.

Yesterday Gordon Brown sought to prove his economic credentials.

The former Chancellor said his "sufficiently impatient and strong-willed" nature had saved the UK from a worse economic fate.

And he had got Britain through a "great recession" and helped it avoid sinking into deep depression.

Is he right - or is the country WORSE off as a direct result of Brown's policies both as Chancellor for a decade and then as Prime Minister? Have your say using the comment section below

Mr Brown is like the glossy cover of a very expensive magazine. The only trouble is that it is full of empty RED pages.
